A LIGHT AT THE END OF THE TUNNEL FOR THE “EL BARRONAL DE LA MORENA” DUNE AREA
This green lung, essential for all of us and for the wild flora and fauna is now having its fence erected in the right place (Zone of protection: 100m +50m) between the Urbanisations Las Chapas and Playas Andaluces in El Rosario-Las Chapas.
Our thanks go out to those responsibles for Town Planning for thus putting right a great injustice which had been done to a dune environment that has a huge reserve of native plants.
The responsibility now is in the hands of the different administrations, including the City of Marbella, to rid the dune of the invasive alien species such as:
- False Mimosa (Acacia saligna)
- Reed/Cane (Arundo donax)
and to show off its beauty and become the habitat of first choice for different species of fauna in the dunes.
