Even if the year 2010 came to an end having brought much satisfaction to the Association, and thus to all citizens, for the achievements we reached and the collaboration we received from the Administrations and the Hon. Town Hall of Marbella during the past year, there still is a lot to do.

The media repercussions have been strong and the support of the press to the incessant labour of our Association in favour of the defence and preservation of the few sand dunes area that still survive in the Municipality of Marbella, is unwavering.

Nevertheless, the financial crisis has also harmed the development of the promised actions in the projects undertaken directly by our Association and regrettably the delays in the starting of several projects are noticeable. In short we must mention the following affected dunes areas, which actually have no current date to be carried out and are still pending, although the plans of these projects exists already:

• Dunas  “La Adelfa” – Bahía de Marbella
• Dunas  “El Barronal de la Morena” – Alicate
• Dunas  “La Víbora” – Elviria
• Dunas  “Las Chapas” – Elviria
• Dunas  “Real de Zaragoza y Tiempo libre” – Elviria
• Dunas  Artola – Monumento Natural – Cabopino-Calahonda

The negotiations of our Association are efficient and necessary – thus we will continue to be the defenders of the sand dunes enclaves with the help of everybody.
