III CONGRESS OF YOUNG SEA RESEARCHERS (JIS) IN MOTRIL (GRANADA)

Our Association was chosen to take part in the Round Table organised by the Mediterranean Seabed Foundation so that, as a participatory entitiy, we could present our point of view and our work strategies in support of the understanding, culture and the conservation of our seas, all as a parallel activity to the III Congress of Young Researchers of the Sea

The III Congress was held under the auspices of the International Excellence of the Sea (CEI · MAR), organised by the Aula del Mar CEI · MAR-UGR and with the support of the CEI · MAR foundation. Its main objective was to assemble the YOUNG RESEARCHERS who carry out research work on the marine field.

The objectives set by the III Congress of Young Researchers of the Sea were:

• Encourage and stimulate the presentation of scientific work carried out by the new generations of Researchers in the area of the sea.
• Promote inter-disciplinarity among Young Researchers who carry out their work in different research centres, both in the public as in the private sector.
• Establish cooperation between the Young Researchers: to know and enhance synergies in marine research.
• Spread and promote Goal 14 of the ODSs: Conserve and use the oceans, seas and marine resources in such a way as to preserve their sustainable development.

For the ProDunas Marbella Association, which shares the same objectives as the JIS, since it is committed to the protection and conservation of the different dune and marine ecosystems on the Marbella coastline, it has been a pleasure to take part in this Round Table and be able to share with attendees the activities we carry out to enhance and raise awareness of the natural heritage on the Costa del Sol.
