NEW PROJECTS

April 2018 – Real de Zaragoza (45,000m²) – Recovery, rehabilitation and reforestation of the dune in the Protected Land and Public Domain of Maritime Terrestrial Easements (DPMT).

The dune environments of “REAL DE ZARAGOZA” are about to be transformed into authentic dune ecosystems where a host of new native species can live and develop according to their biological cycles. All the works of the Phases I – II – III have the approvals, resolutions and authorizations of the competent administrations. ProDunas is acting as supervisor in all these works to be executed. This landscaping project is ambitious and unique in Marbella. It means a milestone in the history of the last 40 years in the Township of Marbella, leading to a true recovery and rehabilitation of the dunes in the Protected Land and Public Domain of Maritime Terrestrial Easements (DPMT).

May 2018 – PHASE I: done – Eradication works of the shrubs and trees listed as invasive species in Real de Zaragoza (45.000m2)

Between January and May 2018 Phase I has been executed, comprising rigorouses recovery works of rehabilitation of invasive species which were concentrating the area to be recovered and rehabilitated.

When the work got under way we discovered that many native (autochthonous) shrubs, such as Wild Olive (Olea europaea var. silvestris) and Mastic (Pistacia lentiscus) had survived. This was a source of great satisfaction. A wonderful surprise also emerged from the thick, wild undergrowth of invasive plants: an underground water storage tank, beautifully constructed in the local style and which the company carrying out the development will restore and keep as a symbol of the history of Marbella.
