WIND CATCHERS – The Miracle that Creates Dunes
Here is photographic proof that the methods COSTAS is taking are effective in dune areas – this photo is of the El Arenal dune.
In other dune areas – Río Real and La Adelfa – you can see the same phenomenon. The wind catchers have created more than 2m of dune between the beach and the dune area proper.
We suggest that Marbella Town Hall follow their example and start using this innovative idea. It can be part of or one of the solutions to counteract the appalling loss of beach and dunes in the La Víbora (Las Chapas) dune environment which has unfortunately suffered dreadful erosion from the pounding of the storms that hit it, one after the other, over these last 2 winters.
