JULY 2010

WE RECEIVED THE VISIT OF . . .

More than 50 students of the first grade of Higher Secondary Education and some of the second grade of Secondary Education from the IES MARQUÉS DE COMARES Secondary School in Lucena (Cordoba), they have had the opportunity to spend a day on the beach right next to the Artola Natural MonumentCabopino, as their end of school excursion.

In this natural setting, and in order to promote the transmission of knowledge on and respect for the environment, as well as to raise the awareness on the importance of preserving and protecting the few sand dunes eco-systems that are still left on the coast of Marbella, we have handed out to them some didactical documents on the Artola Natural Monument – Cabopino.

Members of our Association delivered a short presentation on the millenary formation of the dunes in the Mediterranean area, and explained to them the importance of protecting the indigenous flora and keeping intact the various eco-systems there are in this unique and interesting area of close to 20 hectares.
