NO PARKING on the RIGHT OF WAY

The Natural Heritage Dune area is protected by Law 42/2007 of 13th December 2007 which covers the Natural Heritage and Biodiversity area and protects the entire Ecological Reserve-Marbella Dunes.
                                                                                                             Ecosystems where building is prohibited

Protected by this law, environmental protection prevails over land use and urban planning. This is acknowledged by the Government of Andalucía and has legal value as does its Technical Plan. No urban development project or public parking area is permitted in this dune environment.

Marbella City Council and the Government of Andalucía must guarantee that none of the following will be granted: a license, permit, concession or other authorisation in any part of the dune environment protected by this Right of Way, for any of the following:

Luxury hotel resorts, villas, beach clubs or shopping centres;
Beach restaurants (chiringuitos), kiosks, open air sports facilities or swimming pools.

 This dune is home to an enormous wealth of biodiversity, with beautiful native flora and small fauna. Thus:

The protection of the Natural Heritage Dune Area must be respected by all.

PRO DUNAS has backed the following projects, which are permitted:

  • Raised wooden pedestrian walkways to give access to the beach from the future Urbanisation to the north.
  • Days of Environmental Education + Dune Conservation for members of the public, schoolchildren, tourists and private companies.
